P0754 - Nissan

The P0754 code indicates an intermittent issue with Shift Solenoid A in the automatic transmission. Solenoids control fluid flow inside the transmission to enable gear shifts. If Solenoid A doesn’t operate consistently, the ECU logs this code.

Common Symptoms:

1. Harsh or delayed gear shifting
2. Transmission stuck in one gear (usually 2nd or limp mode)
3. Check Engine Light (CEL) ON
4. Poor acceleration or gear slippage
5. Intermittent shifting problems (works sometimes, fails sometimes)

Possible Causes:

1. Wiring issues – Corroded or damaged transmission harness or connector
2. Faulty Shift Solenoid A – Solenoid may be sticking, partially working
3. Transmission Control Module (TCM) – Software or internal failure
4. Dirty or low transmission fluid – Can disrupt solenoid pressure or signals
5. Internal transmission damage – Valve body wear or fluid pressure loss

Potential Fixes:

1. Check and top up transmission fluid
2. Inspect and clean solenoid harness connectors
3. Replace Shift Solenoid A (often inside valve body)
4. Inspect valve body and wiring
5. Clear the code and retest after repair
