This fault indicates that Clutch 2 (which handles even gears: 2nd, 4th, 6th) has reached its wear limits. The transmission control unit (TCU) has tried to adapt but cannot compensate for the wear anymore — meaning the clutch may need to be replaced.
1. Hard shifting in 2nd, 4th, or 6th gears
2. Gear slippage or RPM flare
3. Delayed gear engagement
4. DSG warning light (flashing PRNDS)
5. Transmission enters limp mode
6. Failed Basic Settings / Clutch Adaptation
1. Worn out clutch pack (especially clutch 2)
2. Mechatronic unit malfunction (controls clutch pressure and actuation)
3. Contaminated DSG oil
4. Failed or weak clutch actuator
5. Excessive heat from urban traffic, stop-go conditions
1. Check clutch wear values via VCDS or ODIS
2. If limits are exceeded, replace the clutch pack (DQ200 dual clutch)
3. Check DSG fluid condition – replace oil and filter if degraded
4. Inspect or test the mechatronic unit
5. After clutch replacement, perform Basic Settings & Clutch Adaptation
6. Clear codes and test drive
