DTC P0756 indicates that Shift Solenoid ‘B’ is either not performing properly or is mechanically stuck in the OFF position. This prevents the automatic transmission from correctly shifting between gears (especially 2-3 or 3-4, depending on the vehicle).
1. ️Check Engine Light ON
2. Harsh or delayed gear shifting
3. Transmission stuck in 2nd or 3rd (limp mode)
4. No upshift/downshift
5. Poor fuel economy
1. Low or dirty transmission fluid – Causes solenoid blockage or pressure loss
2. Faulty Shift Solenoid ‘B’ – Electrical/mechanical failure
3. Wiring issues – Open/short circuits in solenoid circuit
4. Faulty TCM/PCM – May misread or misfire the solenoid
5. Internal valve body problem – Debris or sticking valve near Solenoid B
1. Check transmission fluid (level & color – should be clean & red)
2. Inspect solenoid wiring & connectors
3. Replace Shift Solenoid ‘B’ (may require valve body removal)
4. Flush transmission fluid if contaminated
5. Reset error codes and road-test
1. Controls specific gear shifts, often 2–3 or 3–4
2. Works with hydraulic circuits to engage clutch packs
3. Typically located inside the valve body within the transmission pan
