The PCM/TCM has detected that Pressure Control Solenoid B is not functioning correctly or is stuck in the OFF position. This solenoid regulates hydraulic pressure needed for proper gear shifts.
1. Faulty Pressure Control Solenoid B (stuck, clogged, or weak).
2. Dirty, contaminated, or low transmission fluid.
3. Blocked or restricted hydraulic passages in the valve body.
4. Wiring/connectors issues – corrosion, shorts, or open circuit.
5. Faulty TCM/PCM sending incorrect signals.
6. Mechanical problems in the transmission (worn clutches, valve body wear).
1. Check Engine Light (CEL) ON.
2. Harsh, delayed, or erratic shifting.
3. Transmission slipping.
4. Stuck in a single gear (limp mode).
5. Shuddering or jerking during acceleration.
6. Possible overheating of transmission.
1. Check transmission fluid (level & condition).
2. Scan for additional transmission codes (to see if multiple solenoids are affected).
3. Inspect wiring and connectors at solenoid/valve body.
4. Perform resistance and continuity test on Pressure Control Solenoid B.
5. Use a scan tool to activate the solenoid and monitor hydraulic pressure.
6. If solenoid & wiring are OK → inspect valve body and hydraulic circuits.
1. Replace Pressure Control Solenoid B.
2. Perform transmission fluid and filter change (if fluid is dirty/low).
3. Repair or replace damaged wiring/connectors.
4. Clean or replace valve body if hydraulic passages are clogged.
5. Reprogram or replace TCM/PCM if it’s the source of failure.
6. Transmission rebuild if there’s internal damage (rare but possible).
